I LOVE summer, but not only because the weather’s warmer and the days are longer.
The main reason I enjoy summer days is because the kids are home and everything’s just, well, more r-e-l-a-x-e-d, but that doesn’t mean all routine goes out of the window….oh no, it just changes into a slower, less rigid and more fun one.
Some of the things the kids and I have enjoyed over the years without spending very much at all include:
- Using our garden – Our back gardens are often just used ‘when there’s nothing else to do’ but the National Trust has an awesome list here with loads of things to do in your garden that’ll keep the kids amused for hours.
- Find new hobbies – Summer’s a perfect time to introduce your kids to new activities and we’ve got a guide here to start you off!
- Live in London or fancy a day out there? There is LOADS to do in the city that won’t cost you a penny. Have a read through this and plan some days out.
